The Wisdom of Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine was built on a foundation of more than 2,000 years of Chinese medical practice. Yin and Yang is one of the most fundamental concepts in Traditional Chinese Medicine, as it is the foundation of diagnosis and treatment. In general, the Chinese Medicine Practitioner uses a traditional Chinese method called Four Examinations including inquiring, looking, listening and touching to examine the patient’s illness. Through this traditional method, the illness is seen as the pattern of disharmony in the interactions of yin, yang, qi, xuĕ, zàng-fǔ, meridians, etc. between human body and environment. TCM practitioner uses herbal medicines and various treatments such as acupuncture, cupping, massage, etc. to treat the health problem. Each herbal medicines formula is tailored to the independent patient. Acupuncture is an alternative therapy, which involves the needles insert into specific acupuncture spots to stimulate the body to heal itself. Now, the trend of being health conscious is rising since chronic fatigue syndromes are commonly found. To prevent the side effects of taking medicine, people choose the natural method to treat and prevent their health problem.

Dr. Ming-ha Yeung is a traditional Chinese medicine doctor. She is now a PhD student in Chinese Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She was graduated at Hong Kong Baptist University with Master Degree & Bachelor Degree in Chinese Medicine & Biomedical Science. In the 18th World Congress of Aesthetic Medicine & Sustainable Cosmetics Summit New York 2012, she was the first and the only Asian having a speech on the topic of clinical study on skin improvement by using organic Chinese Medicine.

Ms. Harjani is a qualified solicitor in England and Wales and the British Virgin Islands. With over 10 years of legal experience, she currently works as Director, Business Enterprise Solutions at Marbury, a leading corporate services firm.

As a Hong Kong native, Ms. Harjani has had exposure to both Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Her experience with TCM started at a young age and having found many concoctions of TCM that have helped her personally, her interest continued to grow over the years. In order to pursue further knowledge in this area Ms. Harjani met with Dr. Jenny Yeung to gain more insight into the practice and healing of Chinese medicine.

Together, Ms. Harjani and Dr. Yeung are now in the process of writing a book on Chinese Medicine (due to be released early next year).
